VDA supplies paving grade bitumen for road construction, asphalt plants and waterproofing. The binder comes from refineries in Iraq and the Gulf region. Every offer states the country of origin and the refinery, the grade, the packaging and the price basis, so you can compare like with like.
What to send us
- Grade and standard, for example a penetration grade or a viscosity grade.

Other types such as polymer modified bitumen, emulsions or oxidized bitumen can be requested; availability is confirmed for each enquiry.
Choosing a grade
Harder grades resist rutting under heat and heavy traffic; softer grades stay flexible in cold climates. The table below shows the standard EN 12591 penetration bands as a reference. Our buyer’s guide explains grades, storage and transport in detail.
Packaging and shipping formats
Bulk road tankers
Insulated tankers for large volumes over short to medium distances, where the site has bulk storage.
Insulated tank containers
ISO tank containers (bitutainers), often heatable. The practical choice for long distance export.
Steel drums
New steel drums of roughly 150 to 200 kg for sites without bulk facilities; melted on arrival with a drum decanter.
Polybags and jumbo bags
Heat resistant bags of about one tonne that melt into the mix, reducing packaging waste.

Which grade do I need for a hot climate?
Hot climates and heavy traffic generally call for a harder grade such as 35/50 or 40/60, or a polymer modified binder. The final choice should follow your pavement design.
